User Research is the ability to apply domain knowledge, judgment, and repeatable methods to produce a professional outcome rather than simply recognize terminology. In practice it combines question design, data quality, methods, uncertainty, interpretation, and reproducibility. Competence means diagnosing the situation, choosing an approach that fits the constraints, executing it, checking the result, and adapting when evidence shows the approach is not working.
