AI literacy combines practical use with critical evaluation. A capable user can describe the job they want an AI system to help with, supply relevant context and constraints, recognize that different systems have different strengths and limits, and check outputs against evidence before acting on them. The skill also includes protecting confidential information, noticing when an answer may reflect bias or unsupported assumptions, documenting AI use when the situation calls for transparency, and escalating to human expertise when the consequences of an error are high. It does not require building machine-learning models; it requires enough technical and information literacy to use AI without confusing fluency with reliability.

Mistakes that weaken AI Literacy
